The Plant Micronutrient Stress Physiology Group is a team with a strong chemistry and biochemistry background, and experience in plant -omics, plant physiology and mass spectrometry. Our work focuses on understanding how plants respond to metal deficiencies and toxicities, with a particular emphasis on iron (Fe) nutrition, where we are recognized as an international reference.
Currently, the team captures knowledge on root metabolic traits enabling crops to thrive in low metal micronutrient environments, providing tangible targets for agriculture’s nature-based innovation processes.
Since its founding, the Group is part of the Aula Dei Experimental Station (EEAD), an Agricultural research institute located in Zaragoza (Spain), affiliated with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
